The dropdown doesn’t appear at all
- Confirm the free plugin is installed and active (Plugins screen).
- Check your browser console for JavaScript errors that may be blocking the block’s view script.
- If you use a script-blocking plugin or security firewall, whitelist
cascading-redirect-view-script.
Only one level appears, even though I built two or three
Check that your tree items with children do not also have a URL set. Items with children are category headers — they cannot redirect. Only leaf items (items with no children) should have URLs. Open the tree builder and confirm your deepest items have a URL and no children beneath them.
The Go button doesn’t redirect
- Confirm that leaf items have a URL set in the tree builder (not an empty field).
- URLs should be absolute (
https://example.com/page/) or root-relative (/page/). Relative paths like../page/are not supported.
Pro features not appearing after activation
- Go to Settings → Cascading Dropdowns Pro and confirm the status shows Active.
- If the status is Invalid or Expired, re-enter your license key and try activating again.
- Make sure both the free plugin and the Pro plugin are listed as active on the Plugins screen.
- Click Check license now to force an immediate re-validation.
Changes to a saved tree aren’t showing on the front end
After clicking Update saved menu in the editor, clear your site’s page cache if you use a caching plugin (WP Super Cache, W3 Total Cache, LiteSpeed Cache, etc.). The block renders server-side on each request, but cached HTML will still show the old version until the cache is purged.
The block shows more dropdowns than my tree uses
This can happen when a saved tree (Pro) is linked to the block but the block also has deeper local tree data. The block renders based on the active tree at request time. Try unlinking and re-linking the saved tree from the Saved menus (Pro) sidebar panel, or rebuild the local tree to match the depth you want.
