Installation
- In wp-admin go to Plugins → Add New Plugin.
- Search for cascading dropdown redirect.
- Click Install Now on Cascading Dropdown Redirect Block – Elmspur Cascade, then Activate.
Alternatively, download the .zip from WordPress.org (coming soon) and install via Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin.
Adding the block
- Edit any post, page, or template in the block editor.
- Click the block inserter (+) and search for Cascading.
- Insert the Cascading Dropdown Redirect Block.
- In the sidebar, click Open menu builder.
- Click Add item to create your first top-level option. Give it a label.
- To create a sub-level, click an item and use Add child, or drag it to nest it under another item.
- On leaf items (items with no children), enter the destination URL — this is where the visitor lands.
- Save or Update the post when done.
Testing it
Preview the page. The first dropdown shows your top-level items. Selecting one enables the next level, and so on until a leaf item (one with a URL) is reached. Visitors are redirected either immediately — if you enabled Redirect immediately in the sidebar — or when they click the Go button.
The Navigation block variant
There is a second block called Cascading Dropdown Redirect — Nav. Open the Navigation block in the Site Editor, click +, and insert it inline between your other nav links. It uses the same tree builder and settings, auto-redirects on final selection by default, and stacks vertically in the mobile overlay.
